Bokken Practice

On Sunday 16th June we had an off syllabus session. I did some weapons practice with the juniors. We were training in the Bootle dojo with bokken (wooden replicas) of katana (Samurai curved swords) and some personal training items.

Thank you to James, Harvey, Mikey and Perrin for helping me remember some of the sword work.

At our club formal weapons training using weapons used in feudal Japan is done by Dan grades.

Kyu (student) grades use wooden or foam versions of the weapons during off syllabus sessions.

I hope Perrin, James, Harvey and Mikey enjoyed the session as much as I did!
